Liz Cirulli, PhD, is a Principal Scientist at Helix. She has a PhD in Genetics and Genomics from Duke University, where she was also an Assistant Professor for 5 years. Her work focuses on the discovery of rare genetic variants associated with disease and performing in-depth phenotyping. She was one of the first people to use whole genome sequencing to discover the genetic basis of a disease (metachondromatosis), to use exome sequencing to discover a new disease gene for a complex disease (ALS), and most recently to discover the main genetic cause of different reactions to COVID-19 vaccines.
