The Implementing Genomics in Practice (IGNITE) network is a unique network combining disparate clinical trials all with a common theme related to implementing genomic medicine into clinical practice supported by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). Currently, there are six funded demonstration projects focusing on various areas of genomic medicine implementation, from intervention to trial design to type and number of community partners. Under the leadership of Geoff Ginsburg and Lori Orlando, the Administrative Coordinating Center for the IGNITE Network at Duke will serve to 1) optimize coordination of network meetings and communication between network members, NHGRI, and the external scientific panel; 2) foster and enhance collaboration within the network; 3) develop and cultivate collaborative opportunities with other networks; and 4) improve and increase the visibility and knowledge transfer with the genomic medicine community at large (including policy makers, educators, practitioners, and researchers).
