Micah McClain and Deepak Voora from the Center for Applied Genomics and Precision Medicine (CAGPM) were recognized by outgoing interim Chair of Medicine Joe Rogers in his final Grand Rounds held on June 29, 2018.
McClain won an Excellence in Education Award, which recognizes one faculty member in each division in the Department of Medicine for excellence in medical education. “This is an important part of what we do,” Rogers said. “It’s the unfunded mandate, and it is in your souls to do this. I thank you for your commitment to our educational mission.”
Voora was awarded funding through the Translating Duke Health Initiative (TDHI) for his project “Resilience to coronary artery disease risk factors.” TDHI is a multi-disciplinary, multi-year commitment to harness the expertise and knowledge found at Duke to address society’s most significant scientific and healthcare challenges and fulfill the vision of making discovers and transforming health for millions.
