Clinical Genomics Studies Unit (CGSU)
A ‘One-Stop-Shop’ for Genomic Discovery, Translation, and Implementation
The CGSU provides the foundation and framework for the Center’s operations and administration. We support and conduct genomic-based discovery and clinical development activities across the translational continuum including genomics trial design, clinical project management, study execution, data generation and handling and statistical analysis. Our operational model relies on a multi-disciplinary team approach bringing together some of Duke's top research faculty and physician-scientists, with our experienced managers, project leaders, and research administrators whose collective experience covers the entire functional spectrum:
- Project Leadership and Program Management
- Finance Management and Contract Administration
- Clinical Operations and Trial Management
- Data and eSystems Management
- Sample Management and Biobanking
- Statistical Analysis of Complex Data Sets
- Commercial and Business Development
The CGSU allows our team to plug into key clinical, financial and project management resources. Without it as a foundational element, much of what we do simply could not take place. – Geoff Ginsburg
A Resource for Collaboration across Duke
The CGSU provides a foundation for building strategic and functional partnerships, for establishing strong and effective operational structures, and for fostering a creative and service-minded environment. Our collaborative work extends to outstanding investigators across the University to several centers, institutes and departments, as well as beyond Duke to other academic institutions, government agencies, and industry organizations. The CGSU is accessible through collaborative research and strategic partnerships with a Duke Investigator.
