Data Science & Analytics

We are a team of faculty and staff biostatisticians and bioinformaticians with diverse experience in statistical modeling, biomarker discovery, and predictive analytics.

About the Team

The Data Science and Analytics team works collaboratively with clinical investigators and quantitative scientists to develop and apply statistical models to help meet analytical challenges  of translational research that involve complex, multi-dimensional genomic (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics), clinical and sample datasets.  The expertise and experience of the team is wide-ranging and extensive from SOP-driven data collection and provenance to novel methods development and analytical validation:

  • Provenance-conscious clinical and biological data storage and standardization
  • Database design and implementation
  • Scientific programming of clinical risk scores and other complex covariates
  • Biomarker discovery
  • Functional enrichment analyses
  • Classifier development and validation
  • Longitudinal data analysis
  • Complex Bayesian statistical modeling
  • Diagnostic assay design and validation
  • Processing and analysis including:
    • RNA-Sequencing processing and analysis
    • Microarray analysis
    • Targeted gene expression
    • Proteomics data analysis (unbiased and targeted)
    • Metabolomics analysis (unbiased and targeted)
    • Genetic variant analysis
    • Cytokine analysis
